FLU VACCINE

Seasonal influenza, commonly called "the flu," is caused by influenza viruses. These viruses can infect the respiratory tract (i.e., the nose, throat, lungs). Unlike many other viral respiratory infections, such as the common cold, the flu can cause serious illness and life-threatening complications in many people. The best way to prevent seasonal flu is by getting a seasonal flu vaccination each year. People at high risk for serious flu complications include older people, young children, pregnant women, and people with certain health conditions.
Free Flu vaccines will be offered to faculty and staff members with a valid RU ID. Rutgers retirees may be immunized (with ID) for $25. Short sleeves are appreciated.

If you would like the vaccination, starting October 2nd, 2017 we will be having a series of clinics throughout the University. Our clinics are listed below. If none of our clinics meet your needs, then on or after November 1, 2017 please call for an appointment at 848-932-8254.  Appointments will be scheduled starting Novmeber 1, 2017. The Flu vaccination clinics held at Rutgers Occupational Health Department will be at the basement level of the Hurtado Health Center, College Avenue Campus.

The flu vaccination offered this year is the Quadrivalent single dose vaccine. For more information on the vaccine, please visit http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/season/flu-season-2017-2018.htm
